Two roguelite FPS, different speeds
VOID/BREAKER vs Witchfire
Both are first-person roguelites on Steam. That is where the easy comparison ends. VOID/BREAKER, Stubby Games and Playstack, reached 1.0 on 4 Nov 2026. Witchfire, from The Astronauts, has been in early access since 23 Sep 2024. On 6 Nov 2026 Witchfire’s US price was $39.99 with 17,551 Steam reviews. VOID/BREAKER was $29.99, on sale at $17.99, with 2,648 reviews. I am not going to say the larger review pile makes the better game. It does mean more people have already argued about Witchfire in public.
The play that reviewers describe is the split I care about. VOID/BREAKER is demolition, a gravity tether, and a grid of gun modules, with a dash and a later wall-run. Witchfire is the slower, occult island crawl: you prep a loadout, you fear a curse, you extract. If your highlight reel is Titanfall, VOID/BREAKER is the closer pitch. If your highlight reel is a moody shooter you can lose an evening planning, Witchfire is the closer pitch.
I will not print a head-to-head score. Metacritic had not formed a VOID/BREAKER metascore by this date, so a “which has the higher metascore” line would be fake. Co-op is absent from VOID/BREAKER. I am not claiming Witchfire’s multiplayer status here, because this page’s job is the contrast in pace and price, and I have not re-opened Witchfire’s feature list beyond the store facts above.
