VOID/BREAKER vs METAL EDEN

Reikon Games released METAL EDEN on 2 Sep 2025. On 6 Nov 2026 the US Steam price was $19.99 and the review count was 2,189. VOID/BREAKER, same day, was on sale at $17.99 from $29.99 with 2,648 reviews. The prices sit close. The genres do not.

METAL EDEN is a science-fiction action campaign. You play it forward. Death is a checkpoint problem, not a lost build. VOID/BREAKER deletes the gun you assembled when the run ends, then asks you to assemble another one. Modules, chassis, Voidium, and six zone bosses are the loop. Calling both “fast sci-fi shooters” and stopping there hides the decision you are actually making: do you want a campaign, or do you want a run?

Because one of them is not a roguelite, I will not line up “best build” or “meta weapon” as if the words meant the same thing. I also skip a scoreboard. Review counts are almost the same size, which is a coincidence of timing, two months after one launch and two days after the other, and not evidence that the games are peers.

FAQ

Is Metal Eden a roguelite?

No. It is a linear sci-fi FPS. The comparison still shows up in search, which is why the difference is the headline.

Which is closer to $20?

Both, during VOID/BREAKER’s sale. After 18 Nov 2026 the list prices are $29.99 and $19.99 if nothing else changes.
